A principal in Modesto, California, Marilyn Rockey is a member of the Five Freedoms Project’s inaugural class of National Leadership Fellows. Rockey’s ideal school is a place where “true learning through experiences is a priority and assessment is not a focus but rather a tool used to move students forward. The depth of a child’s academic progress is not gauged by test scores, but through observing progression of thought, ideas, and values as these build bridges to an intellectual future.”
